Career and Profession times - a monthly publication for class XII students featuring academic topics including XII CBSE expected questions, subject based articles, study tips, information on careers, colleges, college entrances & life skills by eminent teachers, professors and student psychologists. Every month 40,000 copies of this paper are distributed by hand amongst class XII students in various schools and tutorials across Delhi. 5687 students committed suicide in the year 2006. The number actually doubled the following year. And This number of severely distressed children is growing each year. In more than half the cases of student suicides, academic pressure- or fear of academic failure is cited as the triggering factor. It is little wonder then, February - June is touted to be the 'suicide season' in the country. Somehow, it seems that an entire generation believes that their board marks will decide whether they will succeed in life- and worse. Whether they deserve to live it all. We as a adult know, life is seldom made through a single exam score. But unfortunately, our children burdened with peaking cut-offs, increasing competition and peer pressure do not seem to realize this.

We need to urgently orient our children to things that matter in life- Career & Profession Times - is an attempt to do just that.
